Review: Lovehoney Happy Rabbit

Have you ever been poked in the vulva? It's not terribly pleasant. I don't want to think "wow, this really hurts" as I'm masturbating. Let me explain how this happened.   A few months ago, Lovehoney sent me a Happy Rabbit for review. I was excited to receive this toy because I hadn't owned a rabbit vibe in years. The packaging was lovely - I companies that package their toys in such a way that it feels like unwrapping a present. This toy, unfortunately, was one of those presents that just didn't work for my body.

Objective observations:
The majority of the Lovehoney Happy Rabbit is made of 100% silicone. I was actually skeptical at first, because it had a strange chemical smell when I took it out of the packaging, and didn't do well with my flame test (there was some loss of material). However, I've been assured by the manufacturer that it is in fact 100% silicone and not a blend. Barring any scientific evidence to the contrary (being reviewed by Dildology for instance) I believe them. The only part that is not silicone is the base, which is made of non-porous ABS plastic. There is circular power button beneath an oblong control button which takes the Happy Rabbit through its 10(?) preset speeds and patterns.
The Happy Rabbit is rechargeable and the instructions recommend charging for at least 6 hours before using. There is a helpful LED light near the charging port that illuminates red while charging and turns green when the toy is fully charged. To turn on the Happy Rabbit, you press the oblong button which starts the vibrations in the shaft.

Subjective observations:
I wanted to love this toy. I've been desperately in need of a new rabbit vibe and I so badly wanted this to be it. Much to my chagrin, it wasn't.

The Sweet:

I love that it's silicone and that it's rechargeable. I appreciate the dual motor (one in the shaft and one in the bunny) because it provides powerful "on location" stimulation so you don't have to worry about the vibrations working their way from the source to the tip. At the higher speed settings, it is a little buzzy, but not to the point of causing my clit to go numb. The curve isn't quite enough to make my G-spot say "oh hello there!" but it does feel pleasant.

The Bitter:

I have one main issue with the Happy Rabbit. The rabbit ears come to a point in such a way that they stab me. In the clit. It just doesn't work for me. It was only through sheer force of will that I had an orgasm when I tested it. I tried different positions. I tried flipping the toy upside down so that it was not penetrating my vagina and just holding the back of the bunny against my clit. That solved the discomfort, but then I couldn't orgasm. I tried just using it for penetration and wrapping my hand around the bunny head so that the ears would not poke my clit--it alleviated the discomfort, but again, couldn't make me cum. Finally I held the bunny ears outside of my panties so only the ears wouldn't come in direct contact with my clit but the vibrations could travel through the cloth. That did the trick.

The other thing about the Happy Rabbit that I'm not wild about is the seam that goes around the length of the shaft. i can feel it when I'm inserting the toy, and it's mildly irritating. It's not a dealbreaker, and could easily be solved with the use of a condom, but it was just one more thing that didn't really work for me.

Overall experience:

I recognize that my vulva is different than everyone else's. Some people love this toy, including are other toy reviewers whose opinions I trust. You can find some of those reviews here and here. I didn't care for it, so I probably won't use it again now that I've finished reviewing it. I've considered making some modifications to it, the way Dizzygirl did to another Lovehoney rabbit vibrator (read about that here) but I don't know if I can quite bring myself to completely mutilate the

One thing I love about Lovehoney is that they have a fantastic return policy (which you can read here). Since all bodies are different, this toy may work for you and it might not. Not many companies offer a "no questions asked" return policy for a full refund up to 100 days. That's quite impressive, and I appreciate their willingness to acknowledge that not all toys work for all bodies. If you're inclined toward rabbit vibes, I would give this one a chance. With a $99 price tag, it's a reasonable price for a rechargeable silicone vibe. Thank you to Lovehoney for sending me this toy to review!

I’m sorry but I disagree with you on your test in some ways .. One the smell after I clean this toy it went away . Second the size was somewhat intimidating but after inserting it with some lube it was incredible . Third the placement of the ears were just right and last but last but not least fourth the speeds and power of this rabbit brought me to orgasms that I’ve never experienced before .. I’ll recommend this rabbit to everyone …

I so was not a fan of this thing!! It wasn’t powerful enough for my prostate, and didn’t feel right on my perineum.
