What is CannaSexual?

CannaSexual® is a word Ashley created to describe anyone who mindfully, deliberately combines sex and cannabis. It has grown to become a lifestyle brand, used to represent pleasure-focused events and educational workshops, and is now officially trademarked! Cannabis can be used to enhance sensation, ease discomfort, and promote intimacy during solo or partnered play. Ashley also stresses that a psychoactive high does not necessarily accompany cannabis use. One can easily use topical cannabinoid-infused creams, sprays, balms, or any CBD-only product without psychoactive effects. Ashley has also become known as "the CannaSexual" as a result of her passion and her expert knowledge about sex and cannabis.

How Do I Host a CannaSexual Event?

Contact Ashley via email to discuss having your own CannaSexual event. Ashley can tailor events to your specific needs, from private parties to public workshops as part of larger events. In the past, Ashley has presented CannaSexual workshops at the Pleasure Chest in West Hollywood, the Cannabis Wedding Expo, and even at Leafly Headquarters in Seattle. In March 2017, she moderated a Leafly-sponsored panel at SXSW entitled, "The Surprising Health and Sex Benefits of Cannabis."

What People Are Saying About CannaSexual

"Everyone has secrets. Dirty little ones that they’re not ready to confront or confess. And some of the biggest secrets of all typically fall within two realms: sex and drugs. While society may be loosening up in many ways, the taboo nature of these topics still sweeps them under the rug—out of sight, out of mind, and under discussed.

Antithetical to the aforementioned we find Ashley Manta. Unabashed, unashamed—and most of all authentic—her work as a cannasexual shines a light on the those things you don’t feel comfortable talking about. Sexual trauma, body image, polyamory, and of course cannabis are but a few of the topics at the forefront of the conversation in Manta’s work, where her willingness to translate the taboo provides a powerful lesson to those that can handle the uncensored truth."

Telling Taboo Secrets with Ashley Manta by Meghan Ridley, April 2017

It was a timely presentation considering mainstream American culture now seems more receptive than ever to the idea of using cannabis as an aphrodisiac. Though weed has long been known as a sex enhancer, the leafy green plant is just now coming out of the underground in the United States. As it grows into a billion-dollar industry, the overlap of pot and sex is turning into a niche market of its own. Yet amid all the upbeat listicles and aphrodisiac weed strains, experts like Manta offer a dose of reality: The relationship between sex and pot is often more complicated than it seems.

"I want people to feel safe and comfortable incorporating cannabis into their sex lives,” Manta says. “I want people to be armed with knowledge, so that they can make the most informed decisions possible for their bodies and their situations.”

The Rise of the Cannasexual in America by Peter Hoslin, May 2016

Anyhow, sitting here listening to Ashley Manta describe stoner sex after devouring a quarter of that affogato bar with breakfast, one has a few thoughts. This woman is proselytizing before an audience that hangs on her every word. We, the flock, are gathered. It is a Sunday morning. One topic is a sacred act, another a revered substance.

Dude. This is church.
